Make sure you inform all of your credit card companies about your new address and ask them to verify things with you over the phone before they process any request. Jewelry Gold, silver and gem stones can easily be slipped into a pocket on moving day. It's best to place these precious items in a carry on luggage along with your medicine supplies. Or, you can call your bank and request a monthly rental on a safety deposit box. China, silver ware and Persian carpet Although these items are difficult to steal, they are stolen all the time because of their worth. To deter theft, move these items by yourself and wrap them with packing paper. Collectible Items Thieves know that collectors are willing to pay high prices for these rare items. You can place them in a box labeled ?kids toys' and secure it with packing tape. This will discourage movers and thieves from opening your box.
