Eight Essential Steps after Making a Home Offer Eight Essential Steps after Making a Home Offer Finally, you have found the home you've been dreaming of. Now, you're ready to make an offer. Or maybe, you already gave your offer to the seller. So, what's next?  Wait for the house seller's response. This response can be rejection, acceptance, or counteroffer. But usually, the seller will respond with a counteroffer, commonly asking for a higher price.  Get an agent for your settlement. If you and the seller have agreed on the price and conditions, it is time to start on the paperwork. You need to hire a settlement agent if you want this process to be fast and less strenuous for you.  Inspect the home. Ask the seller to permit you to inspect the house. Doing this will prepare you for any possible troubles inside the house. If some things need a fix, you can always ask the seller to do that. Reducing the price can also be requested to compensate for the house problems.  Get a home insurance.  Tell your family about the moving. You need to do this as soon as possible especially if you have kids.  Start packing your things for the soon moving. Packing takes a lot of time so it is better to do it too early rather than too late.  Announce your soon-to-be new address. You don't want to miss some important mails when you move.  Close the deal. Congratulations! Now, you are ready to move to your new house!
