How to Clean the Most Common Stains and Dirt
Published on Tuesday, 02 February 2010

Cleaning is inevitable when you are moving. If you are renting you need to clean first before moving if you want to get the whole security deposit. And if you are going to sell your current house, you also have to clean your home to make it more attractive for its potential buyers. In fact, you actually try to beautify it for this purpose.

Using Baking Soda and Toothpaste

Baking soda can easily remove moldy and damp smells. The trick is to apply some baking soda on the pungent area. You simply have to leave it there and the smell would most likely be gone within 24 hours.

Toothpaste is not only good for removing stains and dirt from teeth. You can actually use it to remove scuff stains, ink and crayon. Simply apply the toothpaste on non-abrasive fabric and gentle rub the toothpaste where the crayon stain is. Again, just leave it there for about an hour before washing.

Removing Wax Stains

Wax is tricky to remove. But what you actually just need are an absorbent fabric and a hot iron. When wax get stuck to carpets and fabrics, you can remove it be heating the spot with hot iron while an absorbent fabric absorbs the wax.

When using cleaning materials it's best that you always test it on a hidden spot first. This way you will not ruin the furniture instead of simply cleaning it.
