How to Move Your Office Equipment
Published on Thursday, 31 December 2009
Moving your office equipment to another location is not an easy task. It requires planning, organisation, and a suitable vehicle for transport. Here are tips on how to move your office equipment:
* Secure Your Important Documents First
Your move could start by focusing on your office documents first. Separate important files from the secondary office papers. It is best to hand-carry such files with you
during the moving process. This way you won't go rummaging through the boxes to search for these files.
* Get Ready with the Furniture
Prepare your tables, chairs, cabinets, sofa and other pieces of furniture. You can
let the movers carry them into the truck for loading. You do not have to worry about the safety of your furniture because office movers are able to treat your belongings with respect. After getting the big furniture packed, the little items like clocks and other decor will come next.
* Assign People to Check on Electrical Equipment
Assign people to check on electrical items like computers, cables and other electrical office supplies. Tell them to always check these items closely because these are things that you need in accomplishing work in your new office. You cannot put all things in the hands of movers, regardless of how trustworthy and responsible they are. These are things that require the knowledge of your employees.
Once the office removal is done, do not forget to thank your employees and your movers for a job well done.
