How to Recognize Legit Movers
Recognizing legitimate movers may be harder than you think. While the internet is indeed a good place to look for movers, there are also inevitably more than a few lemons out there, which, if you are not careful, will run away with your hard-earned money. And financial crisis or not, that's always a bad thing.

First off, you need to do good research on the company you're going to hire. Start from a list of possibilities then narrow everything down until you have a short list of seemingly legit movers. Look especially at their feedback (the more the better) and see how they fare with previous customers and clients.

Also, it is important that your moving company have everything in paper. Even their quotes and estimates should be in paper. Good movers won't offer dirt cheap prices; as everyone knows that quality does not come with an extremely low price tag. They will also have professional websites, personnel, and customer service. Legit movers will also offer on-site inspections of your office and home to better assess what you'll be needing them for. Non-legit outfits on the other hand, will just give you a rough (usually low) estimate on the phone, and leave you surprised when you get the final bill.
