Keep Your Moving Environment Friendly
Published on Thursday, 10 December 2009

Moving leaves behind a lot of debris. In view of global warming, it is essential to make the moving environment friendly by reducing the extent of wastage. Following are some tips to keep your moving environment friendly.

Never throw unwanted inventory into trash

Whilst packing, you may find a great number of items that you have not been using for years. Donate them to charities or organise a yard sale to get rid of them. If you have any electronic goods to be disposed, do it through an electronic recycling facility.

Use eco-friendly cleaning supplies

Everyone will definitely clean all the items either at the time of packing or unpacking. Use cleaning agents that are environmentally safe i.e. biodegradable.

Reduce the extent of plastic usage

To prevent any damage to the fragile items, they are packed in plastic bubble wrap. Instead consider wrapping them in towels, comforters and wrapping papers.

Use of moving boxes made of recycled material

Moving boxes made from recycled material are available in various sizes and thickness. Consider using them for packing items. Some movers provide plastic boxes to carry the items. It is a very good option to hire such movers. This not only reduces the impact on environment but also saves moving costs.

Lastly, if you have any items such as unused paints, flammables or explosive products, do not dispose them into the drainage system. Take them to the nearest waste recycling unit to dispose them safely without causing any harm to the environment.
