The Little Things - Moving Apartment
Published on Friday, 15 October 2010
You can probably find tons of information about "things to consider when changing apartments," which will probably deal with big things like location, size, etc. Well, here's a list of the little things that you may never have even considered, but may nevertheless make a difference in your day-to-day living experience:Leaving
- Not all apartment owners will require you to prime the walls of your apartment before you leave. Ask about it first to avoid any unnecessary expenses.
- You may or may not be charged for carpet cleaning if you move out and leave stains on the carpet. If the owner will charge you, then it may be a good idea to try to clean the carpet as best as you can yourself.
- Talk with the landlord regarding how much you may be charged for the repair of certain parts of the apartment, or furniture and other items included in it. That way, you're not caught by surprise.
- Moving out includes some physically laborious tasks, and this will be a good time to ask for help from family and friends. (But be considerate and give them a treat once you've moved into your new pad.)
Moving in
- Don't forget to have a nice "thank you" party for everyone who helped you during the moving process.
