If you are moving, you are definitely busy prepare and packing all your things and furniture. However, before you move in, make sure your new home is ready.
Schedule the best time to go to your new house to inspect if you need to repair or do some renovations before you move. It will be easier to do the renovation or repair something in your new house before you move in. The house is empty, so make the most out of it in order to prepare for your move date.
It will be better if you will go there in the morning because it will be easier to spot stains and other things that needs repair. Make sure to check the attic and basement. Do not forget to check the house' utility connections if they are working properly and they are in good condition. If they are not, hire someone as early as possible to fix this.
Do not forget to check the kitchen, all the sink, toilets, and other faucets if they are all working perfectly. Try bringing some notes to write down all that things that you want to change or areas that needs repair. Going to the house before moving in will help you visualize if your furniture will be appropriate in your new space, or if you need to sell them and just buy a new one.
