When Is the Good Time for You to Move?
Published on Sunday, 18 October 2009
You have to time your move so it will be easier for you and your family. For one, you have to consider the feelings and the schedule of your children especially if they go to school. You may also have to consider the costs and the weather conditions.
Moving with Children
If you have children, your first concern is not to disrupt their studies. So, the most appropriate time to move is after classes end. This way, children would not have to get into a new school in the middle of the school year. They would also be able to say their goodbyes to their friends.
With no more classes, the children will be able to help you pack or clean your old house. They would also have a few weeks to adjust to their new house. They will be able to meet new friends and feel more at home before the school starts.
It would be a good idea to visit the school weeks before classes start. Help them familiarize their new school and new community. They can even meet their new teachers so they will be more comfortable to attend their new school.
The next best time to move is right after holidays. You and your family will be able to say your goodbyes during the holidays. If you want you can also opt to move a few weeks before the holidays. The holidays would provide your family an occasion to bond with neighbors and with the whole community.
Considering the Costs
Since there are many people moving during summer rates are generally higher. Still, if you want to do it at this time make sure you book early so the removals company would still be available.
