With the emergence of moving pod companies, many movers are getting confused about which service to pick - these moving pods or the traditional truck and van outfits.
 
Moving trucks to have their benefits - as even small towns have at least one good moving company (albeit a bit small as well), and their relatively cheap price. Compared to the hiring of full service moving companies, hiring a truck or van you drive yourself is considerably much cheaper. However, driving large vehicles is not easy at all, and the decreased mobility of these large trucks and vans might prove to be more trouble than it's worth for those who aren't used to or are uncomfortable driving unwieldy vehicles.
 
The new alternative, moving pod companies, have the distinct advantage of enabling the person moving to fill the pod at his or her own pace, making for a less rushed move, compared to having a waiting truck you're paying for on a per hour or per day basis. Moving pods are sort of like mini containers that the moving company picks up when filled to be transported to your new home. These containers are weatherproof and can stand up to the elements, so your things are safe even when inside for long periods of time (except for foodstuff, that is).
